A few months ago, when the lottery jackpot was around a billion dollars, I bought some tickets. It got me thinking about what I would do with that money which then led me to thinking about my business. I had decided in my head (as if I had already won) that I wouldn’t quit my job because I truly love what I do but that I wouldn’t feel right charging clients for my work when I was a billionaire. (Nothing wrong with pretending I actually won, right??) The conclusion I came to was that I would photograph clients free of charge but I wouldn’t want to step on other photographer’s toes so that I would only photograph clients that would otherwise not be able to afford a photographer.
All this dreaming about billions of dollars led me to come up with Share the Love. This will be a monthly opportunity for you guys to nominate someone (sometimes your own child) for a completely complimentary session. Each month will be a different type of session that I’ll usually try to coordinate with whatever happens in that month. Throughout the year I’ll be honoring military families, families with medical burdens or financial stresses. Each month, I’ll post the call for submissions on my Facebook page and I will update this post. Deadline for nominations / submissions will differ each month so check the Facebook and blog posts carefully.
