Lauren first contacted me to photograph her wedding about 9 years ago. When I first received the email, I responded back that I wasn’t available for her wedding date. She was getting married on my son’s birthday and I didn’t want to be away from him that day. Lauren’s response was so disappointed that I discussed it with my husband, who agreed he would take Hayden to do something fun for his birthday and that we would make sure to celebrate the day after and I wound up booking the wedding. Once I met Lauren and Joey for their engagement session in the French Quarter, I was really happy that I decided to shoot their wedding. They were just the nicest, most down-to-earth couple – so real and a lot of fun. After a bridal session, their wedding, maternity sessions, newborn sessions and numerous milestone sessions – I can honestly say that I am so honored to have them as clients. They are just easy people to be around and I always enjoy seeing them. After their youngest son’s one year session, I was so sad that I wouldn’t see them as often anymore so I was shocked and excited when I heard they are expecting again! I can’t wait to spend another year with this sweet family, photographing another beautiful baby boy!
Their Laurel Valley maternity session was fun, as usual. I know that sometimes these sessions can be stressful for parents. Especially the parents of 2 active boys who are distracted by everything around them. Laurel Valley can be a bit of a struggle in that way – the animals running around, everything you can climb on and look at – it’s often hard to get kids to focus here. But that can also make the session a bit more fun for them. It just takes a little bit of patience and the willingness to let them run free for a minute here and there! In the end, you wind up with happy kiddos that (mostly) cooperate for the session – especially when you agree to take a photo of them on the train at the end 🙂
