Yesterday, I shared images from Avery and Stefan’s Catholic ceremony and today I’m sharing images from their beautiful celebration at Maison De Tours in St. Martinville. I photographed a wedding here last fall and just fell in love with the place so I was really excited to work here again! The bridal prep area is so beautifully lit, the brick courtyards are perfect for all kinds of photos and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Not only did Avery and Stefan have to contend with Covid-19 changing their original wedding plans, but the week before their wedding, a hurricane headed straight for South Louisiana, threatening to ruin their outdoor wedding. I can’t even imagine the stress they all dealt with in the last several months – but it turned out to be a perfect day.
About 20 minutes before Avery walked down the aisle, the sky opened up and the rain came down hard. The staff at Maison De Tours rushed to close up the ceremony space to keep guests dry as well as to mop up the puddles in the aisle. The sun came out and the ground dried up just in time for her to proceed down the aisle! It was even dry enough for them to have their confetti canon exit in the courtyard!
Overall, it was an absolutely beautiful and perfect day. I’m so happy that everything worked out for Avery and Stefan and they were able to relax and celebrate with their family and friends!
