La Patinoire Wedding – Jasmine and Cody

February 2, 2021

After almost an entire year of watching weddings get postponed, initially not thinking it would affect their day, Jasmine and Cody were finally married and it couldn’t have been more perfect!   I can’t imagine the stress of watching Covid numbers and restrictions rise and fall over the months leading up to your wedding.  The not-knowing whether the day you’ve been planning so long for was going to be affected or not.   Through it all, Jasmine stayed positive and it all paid off!

This beautiful La Patinoire wedding couldn’t have gone smoother.   From the very beginning of the day, things just fell into place.   When I arrived at Jasmine’s grandparent’s house, everyone was just relaxed and happy.   Often, wedding days can be rushed or stressful, but everything was right on time.

Jasmine has a smile that literally lights up the room and she made such a stunning bride.  I just love looking at the images of her and Cody together – you can just tell that they share so much fun and laughter together.   That was evident by their engagement session over the summer, which we partially did at the beach in Morgan City.   They were up for anything – walking through wet sand, dancing and spilling in front of quite a few people, piggy back rides – whatever was asked of them!   And during Jasmine’s bridal session at Dansereau House, regardless of how silly she felt, she faked laughing all afternoon for me!

Speaking of fake laughing – one of my favorite moments of the day was every time I asked Jasmine and her bridesmaids to laugh.  One of her junior bridesmaids had the absolute best fake laugh that immediately got everyone to bust out into genuine laughter.   That’s usually the point of the fake laugh anyway – everyone feels so ridiculous that they start laughing for real.   But this particular laugh was just amazing – I wish every wedding had a junior bridesmaid like her!  I also really love the special relationship Jasmine has with her grandparents – they are just so proud of her!

Now let’s talk about the actual wedding – the ceremony at St. Genevieve by Father Daniel Duplantis, was just beautiful.  I love when priests add personal touches to their homily and Father Duplantis spoke about seeing Jasmine ask for priest recommendations and realizing he’d be ordained by the wedding day.  Knowing that this was one of his first weddings was really special.  After the ceremony, everyone headed to La Patinoire (The Rink) in Schriever for the reception.   Everything was beautifully decorated by Charlie Jane Events.  I loved the shelves packed with photos of Jasmine and Cody from when they were babies – such a sweet touch.

When asking Jasmine how she would describe her wedding day, she replied “fun, crazy, exciting” and I have to agree those words describe her day perfectly.   Her bridal party was so much fun to work with and once the music started at the reception, the crazy and exciting part kicked in!   Everyone was on the dance floor having a blast – those are the best kinds of receptions to photograph!  I also want to mention that working with Austin and Chase of Inclusive Productions was a lot of fun as well.   I highly recommend checking out their videography work.  You can tell they care about their product and still strive to be creative and give their clients something unique to cherish.  If you are friends with Jasmine and Cody – ask them about cereal and you’ll see how Chase was able to get some great laughing interactions between them!  I was also so happy to have my sister, Amanda, back with me for this wedding!  We haven’t worked together since November and weddings are always better when she’s with me!

Jasmine and Cody – I’ve enjoyed every minute of working with the two of you.  Your family and friends were so much fun and I’m so happy that your wedding day went off without an issue.  I hope it was everything you guys have dreamed of – you deserve every bit of it!   Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Landry!
