Extended Family Session at Jim Bowie Park – Henry Family

What a privilege it was to photograph this extended family session at Jim Bowie Park a few weekends ago.   I first met this family when photographing Jennifer and Daniel’s wedding several years ago and I’ve been photographing them for different occasions ever since!   It was so sweet to see little Bennett who has gone from an itty bitty newborn to a toddler – he’s so precious!  I also hadn’t seen Jennifer’s parents and sister since their wedding, so it was great to catch up with them as well.

Jim Bowie park is a beautiful location for family photos.  The line of oak trees on one side with a line of cypress trees along the bayou are a perfect backdrop and I just love the way the afternoon sunlight filters through the leaves.  Perfection!  After the session, Jennifer’s mom, Bette, told me that the 21 oak trees lining Jim Bowie park were planted back in the 50’s by mothers who had lost their sons in World War II.   What a fascinating piece of our local history!
