Jessica & Jeff’s Sunset Wedding at LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens
How have I gone 14 years without photographing a wedding at this stunning venue?! Seriously, I’m obsessed with Jessica and Jeff’s wedding at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens in Baton Rouge. Their gorgeous sunset ceremony on the lawn in front of the Orangerie was breathtaking, and their outdoor reception under the pavilion was filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt moments.
Getting Ready at Crowne Plaza, Baton Rouge
Jessica and her bridesmaids started their morning at Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge, where they got ready in a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. She had some of the most beautiful details, from her soft pink florals to her unique custom-designed wedding invitations (created by Jeff himself!).
Her wedding gown, a custom Anne Barge gown from I Do Bridal Couture, was absolutely perfect for her. You can see even more of her stunning dress in her bridal portraits at Rosedown Plantation.
A First Look & Portraits in the Gardens
Jessica and Jeff chose to do a first look, which allowed us to capture so many portraits before the ceremony. Jeff wasn’t exactly thrilled about taking photos (as many grooms aren’t!), but I always tell couples that I’m quick and efficient—and I mean it!
We got all of their couple’s portraits done in less than 10 minutes—seven minutes total, spread over three different times throughout the day. This meant they could fully enjoy their wedding without feeling like they spent hours taking pictures.
A Dreamy Sunset Ceremony at LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens
Their ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the Orangerie, just as the sun was setting. The golden hour light streaming through the trees created the most magical setting for their vows.
Jessica’s bridesmaids wore soft pink gowns from Bella Bridesmaids (Bill Levkoff), and the groomsmen looked sharp in blue suits from SuitShop—a perfect color combination that complemented the natural beauty of the gardens.
A Joyful Celebration Under the Pavilion
Once the ceremony ended, it was time to celebrate! Their reception took place under the pavilion, just steps from the Orangerie, where Beaucoup Boogie kept the dance floor packed all night.
The cakes were extra special, as they were made by Jeff’s Aunt, Allison Luparello. One of the sweetest details? Their pups made an appearance, peeking out from their wedding cake!
The food was a delicious mix of classic Southern and traditional Chinese dishes, catered by Crowne Plaza.
Heartfelt Moments & Thoughtful Gestures
Jessica and Jeff are truly some of the kindest people. Their wedding day was not just about them—it was about sharing their happiness with everyone they love.
•Jessica asked me to take special photos of her sister and brother-in-law, who never got professional wedding photos after their wedding was canceled due to COVID.
• During the father-daughter dance, Jessica invited all fathers and daughters onto the dance floor.
•Jeff did the same, inviting his entire family to join him and his mom for their special dance.
•For their first dance, they invited all couples to join them, making it a truly inclusive and love-filled moment.
These small but meaningful gestures made their wedding one of the most heartfelt I’ve ever photographed.
Jessica & Jeff, your sunset wedding at LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens was an absolute dream, and I loved capturing every second of it. Congratulations to you both!
