Unique Favors – Wedding Wednesday

February 8, 2023

It’s been a minute since I’ve done a Wedding Wednesday post!   We went to Jamaica a few weeks ago (more about that in a future Wedding Wednesday that will be all about honeymoons) then it’s just taken me some time to get back into the swing of things.  This will be a short one but I hope that it will still be helpful for some of you!

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is seeing how couples choose to personalize their wedding day and one of the ways to do that is through guest favors.   There are always the regulars – cups and koozies, personalized cookies, etc. but over there are also some fun ones that I’ve seen an I wanted to spotlight those and maybe give you guys some new ideas!

For those that choose to go with cups or koozies, these can still be fun and unique as well.   I’ve had couples who have created some really great ones that are specific to who they are:

Another very popular favor that can be uniquely tailored to you as a couple are custom cookies – these will always be a hit, who doesn’t love a delicious cookie??

And along the same lines as the cookies, any kind of sweets is a good option!

And now on to some of the more unique and one-of-a-kind items that I’ve seen as favors over the last few years.

In my opinion, the best kind of favors is either those that the guest will eat or something the guest will actually use.   You don’t want to spend a lot of money on things that will just get tossed after the wedding day!   Here are some more ideas for things I found online that I think would be great favors!

  •  Coasters
  • Mini bottles of wine or champagne with custom labels
  • Key chains
  • Tiny honey jars
  • Luggage tags
  • Scented candles
  • Shaped / scented soap
  • Lip balm
  • Bookmarks
  • Cookie cutters

And remember, the guests aren’t attending your wedding because of the favors they’ll receive, so there’s no need to spend a ton of the budget or stress about this part of the planning.  There are many weddings that we photograph that don’t have favors, and that’s okay!   Whatever you choose to do, just remember that the most important part of the wedding isn’t the favors, the food, the music or the decor.   The important thing is that you are committing your lives to your person – your soul mate and the love of your life.   Your friends and family will be there to witness this beautiful moment and to celebrate with you – period.
