As a photographer, I always feel honored to be invited into a family’s home to capture their most precious moments. Recently, I had the pleasure of doing a Fresh 48 session for baby Cal and his parents in his sweet nursery.

Unlike traditional newborn sessions, Fresh 48 sessions take place in the first 48 (ish) hours after a baby is born. They capture the raw emotions and joy that come with welcoming a new life into the world, making for incredibly special and intimate photographs.

I arrived at baby Cal’s home just a few days after he was born and was immediately struck by the love and happiness in the room. His parents were over the moon with their new arrival, and I could see the joy on their faces as they held their little one close.  We decided to do the session in Cal’s nursery, which was adorned with the cutest little details, from the stuffed animals to the personalized name sign above his changing table. The room was filled with natural light, which made for some beautiful photos. I took some time to capture moments between Cal and his parents, including some sweet shots of him snuggled up with his mom and dad. It was evident that they were already head-over-heels in love with their little boy. I also made sure to capture some of the little details, like Cal’s tiny fingers and toes, his fuzzy hair, and his adorable little face. These are the types of details that parents will treasure for years to come.

As a photographer, there is nothing more rewarding than being able to document such a special time in a family’s life. I know that these images will serve as a beautiful reminder of the joy and love that comes with welcoming a new baby into the world.
