Wedding at The Canefield – Jennica and Shaun

September 9, 2023

Jennica and Shaun’s wedding at The Canefield was absolutely just as fun as I predicted!  From the moment Jennica stepped out of the car when she arrived to get dressed at The Canefield, it was clear that the party had arrived!  Even our first initial meeting, where I met up with Jennica and her mom, Stephanie as well as sweet Camden, was so much fun and we talked way longer than usual.  So I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a while now and it didn’t disappoint.

Jennica and her girls had their hair and make-up done earlier in the day and arrived at The Canefield to get dressed in their beautiful loft space.   This area is flooded with so much beautiful light that’s perfect for everything from details to getting ready and even for portraits and family groups.  The loft even has 2 separate dressing areas so the girls and guys can get ready at the same time.   Jennica and her girls utilized the bridal suite and once they were tucked away and hidden, Shaun arrived with his boys and used the groom’s suite to get dressed.

Once all the pre-ceremony photos were done, it was time for the ceremony!   Jennica and Shaun were married in the beautiful ceremony area behind the barn.  The arch and aisle were decorated with some gorgeous arrangements made by Jennica’s mom.   Mrs. Stephanie also did all of the bridal bouquets, centerpieces and cake florals.   She did such an amazing job, it all looked stunning and I’m sure exactly as Jennica had imagined!

Shaun got emotional as he watched Jennica and her dad proceed down the aisle.  Camden had the sweetest look on his face as he watched his dad and then turned to watch Jennica walk towards them.  After Jennica’s cousin prayed over everyone, the ceremony was short and sweet, with a few laughs sprinkled throughout.  They sealed their marriage with a kiss and receded back down the aisle, hand in hand with huge smiles on their faces!

Jennica and Shaun couldn’t wait to get the party started, so after getting through family photos and grabbing a bite, we looked up to see them just looking out over the crowd.   Shortly after, they entered as husband and wife and had their first dance and cake cutting.   We took some time to do some bride and groom portraits in the soft, warm sunset glow and then it was time to PARTY!!

The crowd was full of some hilarious and rowdy dancers, including the kids!   There was one sweet 2 year old, who would watch every move that the adults made and copy it almost perfectly.  From line dances, to slow dancing and even some crazier moves!  It was a lot of fun watching everyone just let loose all night!

Jennica changed into a bridal pantsuit so she could be freer to dance and then it was time for their exit!

Jennica had said that her perfect wedding day would be full of love, family, and friends and that’s exactly how I would describe their wedding day.   She had also mentioned several times that she wanted us to capture people just dancing and enjoying themselves and we definitely got plenty of that as well!

Congratulations Jen and Shaun – I hope you had a blast on your cruise and I look forward to seeing you guys in the future!
