Kelsey and Nick’s wedding at Lawrence Park in Morgan City was nothing short of perfectly amazing!
When I first met them for their engagement session over the summer, Kelsey told me about some of the plans she had for her wedding day and I was so excited.  She had some really fun and unique ideas that even after shooting weddings in Morgan City for over 16 years, I had never seen anyone do before!
Our morning started at the bride and groom prep locations where Kelsey and Nick were getting ready with their bridal parties. Kelsey and her girls spent their morning at Southern Roots Salon where they got their hair and make-up done. After taking a few photos outside of the salon (I couldn’t pass up the lighting and white brick wall) we headed to Kelsey’s mom’s house where everyone got dressed.
Amanda spent her time with Nick and his guys at a camp in Pierre Part where they got dressed and took some photos by the trees and near the bayou. Once everyone was dressed, we all headed to the beautiful Lawrence Park in the center of Morgan City’s downtown to get ready for their first look.
The gazebo in the park was very recently renovated, so it made the perfect location for their first look. Family and friends were able to watch from afar, but Kelsey and Nick still had their private (emotional) moment together. We got some beautiful photos in and around the gazebo before getting the bridal party and family together for their photos.
Bridal party photos went quickly and smoothly – they were so much fun and made our jobs easy.  We even had a brief little dance break since the DJ was set up and playing music during this time!  The colors that they chose for the florals and bridal party – terracotta, burnt orange, light pink, and cream were absolutely perfect for an outdoor fall wedding. They really popped and stood out against the natural background of Lawrence Park.
The ceremony location was set up under a sprawling oak tree to the side of the park. It was the perfect place as well as the perfect time when the lighting was soft but still beautiful. I love that Nick met Kelsey halfway up the aisle to walk her the rest of the way to the officiant. And doesn’t Kelsey have the cutest expressions?  Her smile and laugh is contagious and didn’t stop all night long!
After their first kiss and a quick dip down the aisle, Kelsey and Nick surprised their guests with a second line over to NicoBella!  This was so much fun to be a part of as some of the neighbors cheered them on. A huge special thanks to the Watersedge Band, Preston Crochet, Lyndon Breaux, and Tommy Breaux who stepped in last minute to lead the second line when their original band canceled on them just days before the wedding! Everyone was so grateful that they were able to make this dream come true for Kelsey and Nick!
After all of the usual wedding festivities – emotional parent dances, a sweet first dance together, and photos of their amazing cakes, the lights went down and the music went up!  This group partied hard and had a blast – the dance floor stayed packed!
Kelsey and Nick are truly such a sweet, genuine couple who were so thrilled to finally get married! We loved getting to know them as well as their family and friends and witnessing just how happy they are together. When I say Kelsey smiled and giggled all night long, it’s not an exaggeration! Photographing these two was so easy and enjoyable!
