Blake and Blakley’s wedding at St. Genevieve was such a sweet, sentimental but wild and crazy wedding – such an emotional roller coaster! And the unspoken (or sometimes spoken) theme of the wedding was – FINALLY! From the table decor that incorporated many photos from the beginnings of their relationship in high school through the “marriage certificate” they had done at one of those old-time photography places – it’s evident that these two were destined to be together from the very beginning!
While Blake and Blakley are tons of fun and were joyous the entire night, the absence of two very important people was felt. Both of them have lost a parent, but I’m sure they were looking down on these two smiling so proudly. Blakley’s bracelet, rosary, and locket (a gift from Blake) were perfect reminders that her mom was with her, and the memorial table at the wedding was such a beautiful reminder of all of their family in heaven.
Not only did Blake and Blakley make sure their loved ones were remembered but they also did a great job of incorporating their personalities and interests into the wedding. They share a love for Disney (my kind of people!), so there were touches of Disney throughout the ballroom. Their sign-in board, cake topper, and guestbook were all Up-themed, and even the mailbox the guests left cards in was a replica of the one from the movie – so cute and creative! Guests were also welcomed by a giant Eiffel Tower holding bags of custom popcorn and adorned with various Disney touches. Not only that, but Blake prepared all of the food with some help from their friends and family – including gumbo from The Cajun Ninja! And let me tell you, the food was amazing!!
Once it was time to cut loose, their family and friends didn’t disappoint. The dancing was so entertaining, there wasn’t a dull moment for the rest of the night. I especially loved watching Blakley’s 2 brothers battle it out on the dance floor!
After their private last dance, Blake and Blakley headed off for an early flight to their honeymoon destination – Disney World, of course!
Congratulations Blake and Blakley – it has been such a joy getting to know you both and I hope to see you in the future!
