HOW IT STARTED ….
HOW IT’S GOING!
I met Blayne almost 3 years ago at a wedding where he was the videographer and we just immediately hit it off. Through the years since then, we’ve worked several weddings together and now, even work for the same travel agency. He’s incredibly motivated and it’s amazing to see how far he’s come with his talent and his business since he started, which was while he was still in high school. On top of videography and travel work, he also attends LSU.
When Blayne contacted me about photographing his surprise proposal to Faith, I was so honored and determined to make sure I was there no matter what! It was so nerve-wracking to figure out the best place to go to wait for them to arrive, without looking suspicious. We had discussed the approximate location ahead of time but we never talked about the angle I would capture or where I would really need to be positioned. Blayne and Faith’s families were all across the pond from the chosen spot, watching from afar, so we texted back and forth a little bit, trying to coordinate. As I sat there waiting, I nervously watched several people come and go from the spot that is usually very secluded, hoping that they wouldn’t ruin the moment or get in the shot. I thought I was positioned in the perfect spot until I finally saw Blayne and Faith walking up and he stopped to pull out a letter to her while her back was to me. I had to quickly run over to the area where they had stopped and tried to casually make my way to the other side of the little island without Faith noticing me. I felt so awkward because there really weren’t any places for me to hide except to kind of hunch over behind this tree branch.
After reading a long letter too Faith, Blayne got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. It was obvious that Faith was very surprised and so excited! Their families began cheering from across the lake – another surprise for Faith! It was so sweet and so much fun to witness! After giving them a moment together, we did a quick little portrait session in that area and in a few other places along the way as we walked over to their families. Everyone was so excited for them and we took lots of family photos of them both with their family and friends.
I cannot wait until this summer when my sister and I will get to capture these two on their wedding day, which will take place outside of Dallas, Texas. We are so excited for Blayne and Faith and extremely humbled that they chose us to capture these most important moments for them!
