Outdoor Spring Garden Wedding – Caroline and Joshua

Last year, I met with Caroline to book her wedding photography and she told me all about her spring wedding that was to be held in her parent’s backyard.  She was so excited about all of the plans and I got excited just hearing about all the fun things they had in mind for the afternoon.  When I received her questionnaire and saw that her vision was a “spring garden wedding,” I knew it would be a beautiful event.  I had no idea just how gorgeous the decor and florals would be for her wedding!

Caroline and Joshua are so very loved by their family and friends.  As evidenced by the heartfelt speeches given by their family and friends, I enjoyed hearing all of the funny and sentimental stories that helped me get to know them just a little bit better.  Sometimes it can be difficult to connect with couples if I don’t meet them ahead of time for an engagement session, but with Caroline and Joshua, this wasn’t a problem.   Both of them are so genuine and down-to-earth and we felt so welcomed being around them.

Caroline got ready at her family home and despite all of the bustling and chaos going on around her, she was all smiles that morning.  There were so many people running around the house, setting up the reception and getting things ready, but there was a calmness to Caroline that was very settling.  Her sister, Lauren, owns The Floral Hive and did all of the florals.   She made a beautiful, one-of-a-kind bouquet for Caroline (that she wasn’t allowed to see until the moment it was presented to her!)   The bouquet also featured a rosary that belonged to Joshua’s mom.

Joshua and Caroline had specifically mentioned that the sacrament of marriage was the most important part of their day.  Both of them have such a beautiful, unshakeable faith that even the priest said was rare.  Their ceremony was held at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral, which is such a stunning location for a wedding.

Back at Caroline’s family home, their guests enjoyed music by Sound Effect and food by Grady V’s.  They also had District Donuts to enjoy along with the wedding cake!   And for entertainment, other than the dancing, Caroline and Joshua provided several yard games for their guests to play!  It was the most perfect spring day, not too hot, not a cloud in the sky.   Overall, besides a few typical hiccups, which can be expected for a wedding, the day couldn’t have been more perfect!
