This Fresh 48 session at Ochsner Baptist in New Orleans was one of the sweetest I’ve ever done. And honestly… it felt extra special because they aren’t just clients to me.
I met Mary Beth when big sister Lucy was only a few months old, and over the last year we’ve ended up in a few small groups together, with Lucy tagging along (as she should). So getting to show up for them in the hospital, in this brand new season, was such a full-circle moment.
A truly brand new baby
I was at the hospital within hours of Thomas being born. He was about 7 hours old when I walked in, which might officially make him the most brand-new baby I’ve photographed… besides the few births I’ve done. 😅
The moment Lucy met her baby brother
And then Lucy came in. Y’all. The sweetest.
She walked in, looked at him with this curious little stare, and just… pointed at him. No big dramatic moment. Just a quiet, gentle “oh… that’s my baby.” It was simple and soft and so her, and I loved getting to freeze that moment for them.
Those are the kinds of memories Fresh 48 is made for: the first introductions, the first family-of-four minutes, the tiny details you know you’ll forget if they aren’t documented.
From Houma to New Orleans, and right into my heart
Even though this was a New Orleans hospital session, this sweet family is from Houma, and I’m just so happy for them. I can’t wait to watch Thomas grow up right alongside Lucy and keep cheering them on in all the milestones ahead.
If you’re expecting and thinking about a Fresh 48 session at Ochsner Baptist (or anywhere in New Orleans) and you’re coming from Houma or nearby, I’d love to be there for those first hours too. They go by way too fast.
