Engagement Shoot at Lake End Park – Mattie and Hatton

A Texas boy meets a Louisiana girl and they attended mass together on their first date.  Isn’t that the sweetest beginning of a love story?   The Bible speaks of building a foundation of solid rock because it won’t collapse when the winds and rains come. (Matthew 7:24-27)  I can’t imagine a more solid foundation than sharing their faith on a first date.  This is the beginning of Mattie and Hatton’s story.  Mattie also told me about their second date, when she introduced Hatton to her dog, Zola.  Zola immediately approved of Hatton and now here they are, planning a wedding at St. Francis, the same church where they attended mass on their first date.

Mattie and Hatton’s engagement session in Lake End Park was very relaxed and chill.  We walked around the park, chatting about different everything from deep sea diving (and how I once tried to get scuba certified but couldn’t even go under in 4 feet of water LOL) to the aggressive squirrels that roam around the park.  This is one of the reasons I love engagement sessions and highly encourage them.  I truly love getting to know my couples and if I’m meeting them for the first time on their wedding day, it’s a lot harder to know who they are as individuals and not just clients.

I know I’ve talked about Lake End Park before, but I just wanted to say again how much I love shooting here.  The beautiful views of the lake from the small, sandy beach, surrounded by the beauty of nature, make it such a wonderful backdrop for engagement photos any time of year!
