As a photographer, I have enjoyed capturing some of life’s most precious moments, and nothing is more precious than the arrival of a new baby. Recently, I had the opportunity to do a Fresh 48 session for a beautiful baby boy named Barrett, who was born at Thibodaux Regional Hospital.

A Fresh 48 session is a unique opportunity to capture the first few hours of a baby’s life. It’s a time when everything is new and raw, and the love and emotions are palpable. I arrived at the hospital just few days after Barrett was born and was immediately struck by the joy and excitement in the room.

Barrett’s parents were beaming with pride and excitement, and it was clear that they were already head-over-heels in love with their little boy. I spent some time capturing sweet moments between Barrett and his parents, including some precious shots of him snuggled up with his mom and dad.

The hospital room was filled with natural light, allowing me to capture some beautiful images without additional lighting equipment. I made sure to focus on the little details, like Barrett’s tiny fingers and toes, his fuzzy hair, and his adorable little face.

It was an honor to be able to capture these precious moments for Barrett’s family. As a photographer, there is nothing more rewarding than being able to document the love and joy that surrounds a new life. I hope that Barrett’s family will treasure these photos for years to come and that they will serve as a beautiful reminder of the joy that comes with the arrival of a new baby.  Be sure to check out Barrett’s newborn session, which we did a couple of weeks later!
