Wedding at The Balcony Ballroom – Kelly and Grant

A proposal at Magic Kingdom, hidden Mickey’s, and ending the night with the music from Happily Ever After (Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show) … could this sound any more magical?  And let’s not forget the car named “Lucy!”

When asked how she would describe her perfect wedding day, Kelly said, “Magical, Elegant, and Timeless.”  And that is exactly how I would describe how her day turned out!  The only thing I would add to that is sentimental – there were several of those touches throughout the day as well.

We began the day at Kelly’s parent’s house, where her parents also had photos from their wedding day.  There were a few photographs that Ms. Becky, Kelly’s mom, wanted to recreate and they turned out so sweet!  I hope they love them just as much as the originals.  Once Kelly was dressed, it was time for photos with Lucy – her dad’s 56 Chevrolet.   Lucy would be Kelly’s ride to the church as well as she and Grant’s ride to and from the reception – their “getaway” car!

Kelly and Grant’s ceremony was held at St. Behilde in Metairie – the church where Kelly attended elementary school – and presided over by Father Cody Chatagnier from Grant’s home church in Bourg.  It was a beautiful Catholic ceremony.

Then it was off to The Ballroom for their party – and what a party it was!!   After the first dances, cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss, the lights went down, the music came up and it was time to party!  The dancefloor stayed packed the rest of the evening, with everyone’s heads adorned with blinking LED flower crowns!   Guests were also treated to beignets from the Cafe Du Monde food truck, parked right outside the front door.

At the end of the night, the guests filed out to get ready for their bubble exit while Kelly and Grant shared one last dance.  This is always one of my favorite times at a wedding.  The ballroom was completely empty except for Kelly, Grant and us.  The projection switched from a classic monogram to the Disney Castle and they shared a final, sweet dance.  Happily Ever After started playing and Kelly took a last moment to twirl around the ballroom like a princess – a moment she has described as “truly magic!”  Finally, they exited surrounded by bubbles and road off in Lucy!

We worked with some amazing vendors for their wedding – thank you all for being amazing and I hope to work with you again someday!
