Some families hold a special place in my heart because I’ve had the privilege of documenting so many of their biggest milestones—and Karley’s family is one of them. From her senior photos to her wedding and her first baby’s milestones, I’ve been lucky enough to be part of her journey. And now, here we are again, celebrating another exciting chapter with a maternity session for baby number two!
We met at Avery Island for this session, hoping for a beautiful backdrop of lush greenery and timeless scenery. What we didn’t expect? Rain! Despite it not being in the forecast, we found ourselves dodging drizzles at the very start of the session. And while the day was wet and chilly, that didn’t stop us from capturing some truly beautiful moments.
Big sister Harper was, as always, so entertaining to photograph. At three years old, she’s full of personality and energy, which made for some sweet and funny moments throughout the session. She did so well, though—posing with her mama and even braving the damp weather. Her only hesitation? The alligators! 😂 She made sure to keep her distance from the water and stay on high alert, which I can’t say I blame her for! (even though we were all pretty certain the alligators weren’t coming out in the chilly weather LOL)
