Cassie & Jason’s Engagement Session | New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

Every once in a while, a session comes along that’s totally unique—and this one was definitely that! I had the honor of photographing Cassie and Jason’s engagement session at none other than the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, a place that’s been a huge part of their story together.

Cassie and Jason have been together for over 10 years, and for all of those years, they’ve volunteered at Jazz Fest. It’s more than just a music festival to them—it’s a tradition, a shared passion, and a big part of what’s shaped their relationship. So when they asked if we could do their engagement photos at the festival grounds, I had to say yes.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous at first—Jazz Fest is a bustling, colorful maze of tents, vendors, and crowds, and I wasn’t quite sure how we’d make it work for portraits. But as soon as we met up (a few hours before the gates opened), Cassie and Jason came in with ideas and excitement—they knew exactly which spots they wanted to use. From the welcome sign to the main stage and several iconic corners of the fairgrounds, we found creative ways to make the location shine.

And honestly, it ended up being so much fun. Their laid-back energy and the meaning behind the location made this session not only work—but work beautifully.  They even had one of the iconic Jazz Fest signs made with their last name and wedding date.

This one was extra special for me, too, because I’ve known Cassie since she was little—she’s been friends with my sister since elementary school! Getting to capture this milestone for her was such a full-circle moment, and I already know their October wedding is going to be a blast (especially since I’ll get to see so many of my sister’s friends again!).

Cassie and Jason, thank you for trusting me with this unforgettable session. I loved getting to capture your love in a place that means so much to you both. I can’t wait to celebrate with you this fall! 🎶💛

Engagement sessions don’t have to be traditional—let’s create something meaningful to your story. Whether it’s a favorite spot, tradition, or event, I’m here to help you capture it beautifully.
