Rip Van Winkle Gardens Maternity Session – Lindsay

December 1, 2020

While driving from Houma to New Iberia for Lindsay’s maternity session, right before getting to the gardens, it started pouring.  Both of us had driven over an hour and Lindsay had gotten hair and make-up done, so we really had no options than to just wait it out.  Thankfully, we could see the sun peaking through the clouds so we decided to just start on the porch of the gift shop and pray that the rain would stop.  In the first few images, you can see the sun shining through the rain.  It was over pretty quickly and we were able to continue the session through the rest of the property.

Rip Van Winkle is an amazing location for any kind of session – particularly maternity, bridal portraits or engagement photos.  The gardens are beautiful and there are a variety of different looks throughout the area.  Lindsay’s bright red dress was stunning and stood out so beautifully among the greenery.  I had such a great afternoon with Lindsay and Andrew, despite the heavy, humidity that had us all soaked from sweat by the time we were done!  I’m so excited to meet their new baby later this month!
