What better way to  make a comeback after a broken wrist and a global pandemic than to photograph a beautiful sunset engagement session near Houma?  Initially, they were supposed to have their engagement session in Lafayette but Lerin and Cameron were visiting family in Houma and decided on Golden Ranch Plantation.  I had never been to this plantation before or even to Gheens, the small town outside of Raceland and I wasn’t sure what to expect.  Engagement sessions at plantations in Louisiana are pretty common and I’ve been to most of the ones around South Louisiana.  Photographing a new location, especially a plantation I haven’t been to, was exciting!

Lerin brought lots of fun things to incorporate into their session so we wound up with a lot of really fun images!  An engagement photo with white balloons under a moss-filled oak tree with sunlight streaming through?   Check.  A romantic engagement photo in front of a Southern Louisiana plantation?  Check.  Practicing your first dance under the live oaks of the plantation?  Check.  Sharing a glass of rose’ next to a serene pond as the sun sets behind you?  Check. Popping champagne at sunset?  Check.  A quiet moment together as the sun sinks below the trees?  Check.  We really had a blast at Lerin and Cameron’s plantation engagement session – it couldn’t have been a better evening.

Now that Lerin and Cameron’s engagement session is done, we can look forward to Lerin’s bridal portraits and then their Houma wedding at St. Francis Church and the Marriott!  We had so much fun at their engagement session, I know we will have a blast at their wedding!
