Newborn Boy and his Big Brothers – Callen

July 22, 2020

I told you guys when I blogged Lauren’s maternity session that I couldn’t wait to photograph another one of these beautiful Billiott boys and Callen definitely does not disappoint.  Just look at this precious little boy with all of his dark hair!!  Big brothers Cass and Joey did so well for their photos too – this may be one of my favorite sibling photos ever!  The way Callen is staring at the camera, it’s like he’s thinking – oh boy, what have I gotten myself into with these two brothers??

Both of Lauren’s other boys were photographed at home for their newborn sessions and after having another section then dealing with all this Covid mess, Lauren felt it was best to do it that way again.  Although Joey’s photos aren’t on my blog anymore (I had a blog crash about 5 years ago and lost all the posts), you can check out Cass’ and compare them to Callen’s.  I think all 3 boys look so similar as newborns!  I did a comparison over on my Instagram – you can find it in the highlights!

Callen was so good for his session and gave me a good hour of solid sleep before he started getting a bit fussy – he wasn’t thrilled once we undressed him, but that’s most newborns!  It just took a little milk to get him settled again so we could get the rest of the photos.  I loved when Lauren told me that we photographed him on both of the older boys’ favorite colors – blue and green.  She told me the cutest story about how one of them thinks your favorite color is also the color of your eyes and didn’t understand why his mama didn’t have purple eyes LOL  Could you imagine if that was true?   What if your favorite color was black or red?  Yikes!

In-home newborn sessions are something I offer to all of my clients, especially now, if they feel more comfortable staying home instead of venturing out.  It’s usually an additional fee, but until we’ve reached a safer point in this pandemic, I’ve waived the fee to make sure my clients are able to get the images they want, in the safest way possible.  Either way, you can be assured that I’m taking every precaution I can to keep you and your family safe, whether it’s in my home studio or in your home.  My home studio is located immediately inside the entrance to my home, so unless you need to use the restroom, there is no need to go into other areas of my home.  The studio is vacuumed, mopped and disinfected within a couple of hours of your arrival.  All props, wraps, blankets, etc. have been washed before re-using. Client sessions are also spaced apart to allow for all of these cleaning measures.  I wear a mask and keep sanitizer on hand during the entire session.
