First of all … how about that gorgeous name?? Emberlynn Elyse <3 Second … COVID – why do you have to mess everything up again??
Two years ago, I first met April and Teddy in the hospital when I photographed the Fresh 48 and newborn session of their first baby, Brennan. I got to see them again last fall when April stood in a wedding for her friends Kristen and Blake. I loved getting to see them again and to see how much Brennan had grown! So I was even more excited when I found out they were expecting again and I would get to photograph the Fresh 48 and newborn sessions again!
Enter, COVID.
Unfortunately, Emberlynn was born right when the hospitals changed the covid restrictions again, so I wasn’t able to photograph her Fresh 48. I guess in a way, that’s a good thing because when April texted me to let me know she had been born, someone texted her back “Congrats!” and then never responded again. That person WASN’T me. Meanwhile, I was checking my emails and texts over and over to make sure I didn’t miss a message from them letting me know Emberlynn had been born!
Thankfully, we were able to schedule her newborn session without issue. Brennan did so well for his part in the photos (even if he didn’t want to lay next to his baby sister, he smiled a lot for me!) Emberlynn was a dream as long as she was wrapped up! Once unwrapped, she didn’t want to have much to do with me LOL It was late in the evening by this time, so I just had April come back with Emberlynn the next morning and after a few minutes, she finished off her session like the perfect little model that she is. And just look at how gorgeous she looks in bolder colors! April didn’t have any specific colors that she wanted or didn’t want, so I choose some bolder colors that don’t get used often. I mean, I love the pale pinks and neutrals as much as anyway, but how beautiful are rich, deep colors?!
