Farah and Josh had a beautiful outdoor wedding at a private home in Bourg. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day, down to the stunning sunset that bathed the entire reception in an ethereal pink light just as the party was getting started!
Almost 2 months ago, Hurricane Ida left a path of destruction throughout the bayou parishes, including Bourg, where Farah and Josh were to get married. I was beyond happy for them when I finally heard from Farah and she told me the wedding was able to proceed as planned! I was thrilled that Farah and Josh would be able to have their dream outdoor wedding and celebrate with their family and friends.
Fall weddings are definitely one of my favorites, especially right now with all the gorgeous, rich colors that are trending for weddings. The rust-colored dresses that Farah chose for her bridesmaids were stunning – absolutely perfect for an October event! (Even though Mother Nature didn’t get the fall memo and it was HOT that day!)
The ceremony took place next to a big pond which reflected the entire scene including the wide expanse of blue sky and clouds overhead. Just look at how gorgeous the entire scene was! Simple, elegant, and perfect. After they were married and we were able to capture some stunning portraits of them, everyone headed over to the reception area and danced all night to Bang Bang. Some favorite moments include Josh having a “First Look” with one of his groomsmen, who was dressed in a wedding gown, complete with a wig and tiara. Also, anytime I was able to work with Farah and Josh alone. Even though Josh pretended to hate pictures, I know he secretly loved every second! He definitely kept us all laughing!
You can tell from their wedding photos together, that Farah and Josh just have so much fun together. They laughed and smiled through the whole day – just like their engagement portraits earlier this year! And on top of working with this amazing couple, I worked with some incredible vendors as well, including Haley Bateman, who traveled from Hawaii to capture Farah and Josh’s wedding day. I’m so excited to see what she creates for them!
Leading up to the wedding, on top of the usual stressors that couples encounter, Farah and Josh had to deal with the aftermath of the storm which affected so much around them. From their home and their family’s homes down to vendors who were also affected and had to cancel or make changes to their usual preparations. Farah handled all of this with such grace. She’s just the sweetest, kindest person and I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. It was the perfect wedding to kick off a very busy fall wedding season!
