Pink Floral One Year Session – Quinn

January 7, 2022

This sweet girl wasn’t too thrilled to have her photo taken.   We started her session with some family photos out on our property and immediately, I could see she would need some time to warm up.   Anytime I went near her or even looked at her, she would cry.  I really wanted to do these photos for them because this adorable family has had a rough few months.   Like many others in our area, their house was badly damaged in the storm and they are currently living 30 minutes from home and traveling back and forth every day.   Sierra had mentioned to me that they had family photos scheduled a while ago but the girls weren’t feeling well and they had to cancel.  She asked for just one family photo but I really wanted to give them a session closer to what they missed, so we did a little mini family session right before Quinn’s 1st birthday session.

Once we had these images, we headed over to my home studio to do Quinn’s birthday session and cake smash.  Unfortunately, she wasn’t really feeling pictures, even when I had big sister jump in to show her how it was done.  We had a few small moments where she was okay, but shortly after, it was all tears.   I am very patient during sessions and will wait for a child to get comfortable as long as I need to.  But there are times when you can tell a baby just isn’t feel well or is too tired to continue and in this case, Quinn just didn’t seem like herself so I offered for them to return another day when she might be feeling a little better.

So here we are, just a few days later, and Quinn is definitely in a much better mood!  They came directly from church and were dressed in their precious Christmas dresses, so I wanted to grab a photo of the two sisters together (we got one with mom too!).   Emery is really just the best big sister!   After a little bit of warming up, Quinn was ready to take some photos by herself and we were able to get to her cake smash.   Happy first birthday Quinn!
