One Year Milestone Session – Adam

The period between Christmas and New Year’s Day can be a strange and confusing time – I know I can’t be the only one to feel this way. Our usual routines are disrupted and I sometimes don’t know what to do with myself. Sometimes it can be a relaxing and enjoyable time, while other times are filled with anxiety or boredom.

What could be the reason behind this being such a strange time of the year?  Christmas is a time for celebrating with family and friends, and New Year’s Eve is a time for looking ahead to the future and setting goals.  So I guess this “in between time” there is just a sense of uncertainty and a lack of structure.  I usually don’t have any work to do (although this week, thankfully, I do have a couple of things scheduled that will force me to get up and change out of my pajamas) and that gives me more free time than usual.  Free time that I often don’t know how to fill.

The other issue I’m facing is that the kids are off of school, so I feel a sense of needing to bring them to do fun things, but I’m just drained from the holidays and would prefer to stay at home on the couch.

How do you usually fill these strange days where it’s easy to forget even what day it is?

Another positive is that I also have several sessions that I need to share, so that should also keep me busy for a little bit.  Here are some absolutely adorable 1st birthday images of Adam, our sweet baby cousin.   He was perfect for his one-year session – lots of smiles and sweetness.   Happy birthday Adam!
