Some love stories unfold right on time. Monica and Darren’s just took a little longer to find its way, and that made every single moment of their wedding day feel even sweeter.
The Petroleum Club of Morgan City was beautifully transformed for the wedding, styled by Travis Glynn of Travis John Designs, who happens to be a close friend and neighbor of the couple. The details were stunning, and the space felt warm and personal.
Monica’s daughters and her little granddaughters were by her side as bridesmaids and flower girls, and her closest friends, many of them her Galatea float group, were right there with her too. The room was absolutely full of people who love and support them both, and you could feel it from the moment the day began.
Darren stood with his back to the doors as they opened, and when he finally turned around, the emotion was immediate. Monica was walked down the aisle by both mothers, hers and his, which felt like a perfect start to the ceremony.
Darren’s sister officiated, making the whole thing feel personal and close. And then came the vows. Monica read hers, heartfelt and written with care. Darren spoke from the heart, completely in the moment and entirely his own. There were tears, there was laughter, and it was exactly what you’d hope vows would be.
The reception that followed was a great party. The dance floor was full all night, and the energy in the room was just genuine happiness from people who were glad to be there.
The night wrapped up with Darren and his mom sharing one last dance together, a sweet ending to a really good day.
Monica and Darren, it was such a pleasure to share this day with both of you. Here’s to the love that was worth the wait!
