A couple of months ago, I photographed Mary and Orry for their engagement session and this weekend they finally had their wedding at Fairfax House in Franklin! If you saw the blog post about their engagement session, also at Fairfax House, you may remember that they were going to find out the gender of their baby on their wedding day! Not only that but it was also Mary’s birthday and her sister would be celebrating her anniversary the next day. She was also married at Fairfax House!
Saturday couldn’t have been a better day for a spring wedding. Despite the rain last week and having to move the ceremony from the front of the house to the backyard, things couldn’t have been more perfect. I really loved the ceremony location and how the gorgeous oak trees were the backdrop while they exchanged vows. All of the festivities, from getting ready to the reception were held at the house. It’s a great getting-ready location and even has enough room for both the girls and the guys. Mary and her girls got ready in the upstairs rooms. The lighting up here is so beautiful – I love how bright and airy all of the detail photos are and the ones of Mary getting ready. Orry arrived with his guys and they were able to get dressed downstairs and then I brought him outside for the first look. One of the best reasons to have a first look is so you can get ALL of your photos done before the ceremony. This also usually gives us some extra time to do bride and groom portraits because there isn’t that rush to want to get to the reception.
After the vows, Mary and Orry went into a side room with their close family and friends to do the gender reveal. I always love being a part of these kinds of events. You can see a short video from the reveal down below as well as to see if it’s a boy or a girl! I couldn’t help but record their reaction, I thought it was a lot more entertaining than just a photo (I got some of those too!)
Congratulations Mary and Orry and happy birthday to Mary! It was a perfect afternoon and evening with them surrounded by so many family and friends that love them. I hope that these next several months fly by for them so they can meet their new baby girl, Olivia!
