When it comes to engagement sessions, there are grooms that are just there to make the bride happy and do what they are told, but don’t particularly enjoy it. Then there are grooms that hate everything about taking photos and no matter how funny I try to be, they just aren’t buying it. THEN there are the grooms like Joshua that make my job so much fun and so very easy!
Farah and Joshua chose to have their engagement session on a horse farm not far from my house. It’s always a bonus when I don’t have to travel far! I had met Farah and her mom when they first booked the wedding but this session was the first time I was meeting Joshua. Right away, there was just an ease and friendliness about him and I knew the three of us would have a great time! They are just the sweetest couple – so down-to-earth and friendly.
These two met when they were in high school but lost touch after graduation. Joshua went on to serve in the Navy, traveling all over the world. Farah says that Joshua contacted her a few years ago and they started dating. They’ve been together for 3 years and will be getting married this fall.
Our day at the horse farm was a blast. This property is an AirBNB and has so much to do, and is so beautiful, that when Farah and Josh went out to see if it was the right location for their photos, they wound up spending the whole afternoon there just exploring and talking with the owners. There were 5 horse there the day of the session and they come right up to the fences to let you pet them.
I’m so excited to photograph Farah and Joshua’s wedding in the fall – I know it’s going to be the best time!
