Through these last few years, I’ve gotten to know this family as I’ve photographed them – first as a new family of 3, announcing their pregnancy, their maternity session and then all of Mason’s milestone sessions throughout the last year. Stephanie’s maternity session is one of my favorites to date. It was one of those sessions that just came together perfectly – the lighting, the location, the outfits and of course, the beautiful subjects. Once Mason was born, I had the honor of visiting them in the hospital for his Fresh 48 session. Witnessing them as a new family of 4, with proud big sister, Paisley, was so amazing – he was the cutest newborn with his perfectly round face! About a week later, I was able to see him again for his newborn session. I just love when I’m able to do the Fresh 48 and the newborn sessions – its amazing to me how much the babies changed in just a few short days! As one of my Grow with Me babies, Mason also visited me for his 4 month and 8 month milestone sessions and now, today, he’s ONE!
Stephanie contacted me months ago to schedule and plan for this session. She wanted a Peter Rabbit theme and, at the time, I knew I’d be able to get what we needed when Easter stuff was available in the stores. Little did I know, we wound up being quarantined throughout Easter and we had to keep pushing Mason’s session back. I had to order the stuff I needed because we were unable to browse in the stores! Everything worked out perfectly, though, and we were finally able to schedule Mason’s One year cake smash just days after the state was allowed to start re-opening. I’m so happy with how it all came together – I think the Peter Rabbit cake smash is just precious! I love when I get to do new themes that I haven’t done before!
Most of the backdrops used here are from Magical Drop Shop – I absolutely love the classic portraiture look of the brown one. It was perfect for the sibling photo as well as the one that mom jumped in for!
Happy birthday, Mason! I hope you and Paisley enjoyed your party! It’s been such an honor to see you grow up over the last year!
