Tamica and Lawrence really know how to throw a party! Their Champagne Palace wedding was one of the most exciting we’ve done this year and so full of beautiful details – it was just a blast to photograph.
When I first met Tamica and Lawrence at the Botanical Gardens for their engagement session, I knew that I would love working with them.  They are both from the New Orleans area, so of course, they just reminded me of home. Their wedding day started with them having fun getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Tamica and her girls had a beautiful Airbnb in the Central Business District of New Orleans. This place was so full of beautiful light and was decorated in every room with festive balloons and signs! Tamica had not one, not two but THREE outfits for her wedding day along with shoes and other gorgeous details. I’m obsessed with her custom acrylic ring box, too – I probably took way too many photos of it, but it was just so unique and pretty!
Their ceremony was held in the beautiful gardens at Champagne Palace. As their guests began arriving, I noticed there was a common theme to their outfits – everyone had on shades of brown and pink. I asked Tamica about it and it turns out, her guests had a dress code to follow!  When I scroll through their reception images and see how everything just coordinates and flows together, it makes my eyes so happy LOL  I think every wedding should have a dress code!  Okay, not really because I know it’s not feasible for a lot of weddings – but seriously, it was all just so gorgeous!
After their ceremony and all of the traditional wedding events came one of the most chaotic and exciting things I’ve ever photographed at a wedding. Tamica and Lawrence’s second line was led by a few Zulu Krewe members and as soon as they stepped into the ballroom, the crowd surrounded all of them completely and it was difficult to get close enough to get photos of the action.  But we managed to squeeze our way through and got some really fun photos of the Krewe and all the guests. For a solid 20 minutes, the brass band played and everyone danced in a tight circle with whistles blowing and the crowd cheering. We loved every second of it!
Congratulations Tamica and Lawrence, I hope your wedding was everything you dreamed it would be!
